2. What information do we collect?
The data we may collect and process about you falls into two categories, outlined below.
2.1. Information you provide to us
DAV collects and maintains certain personal information about you when you give us data directly, for example by filling in any online forms that appear on our website, sending us an email or other written documentation, or getting in touch by phone. The personal information you provide in this way, such as your name, address, email address, and phone number can identify you personally. If you work with DAV as an associate consultant or are interested in working with us in this capacity, we will also collect relevant background information and other personally identifiable information that may be included in any supporting documents you have provided to us. This includes but is not limited to your CV, details of your business, documents we are legally obliged to validate (e.g. proof of entitlement to work in the UK) and/or information we are legally obliged to disclose (e.g. National Insurance Numbers and date of birth for HMRC purposes when working on a client assignment with us). It is DAV’s policy not to purchase or otherwise seek to obtain any supplementary personal information about you from any third-party organisations, other than that from publicly available sources, e.g. LinkedIn.
2.2. Information we collect about you
In addition, we gather information about you indirectly, every time you visit our website. This may include technical information, for example, relating to your browser type and version, the type of device you used together with its operating system, your time zone and language. It may also include information about your visit to our website, such as how you entered the site, how you navigated through the site, which pages you viewed and for how long and at what point you left the website.
3. How do we use this information?
We make use of the information we gather about you in the following ways:
3.1. Information you provide to us
We use the personal information you have provided to communicate with you directly. Our aim is to:
- Provide you with services or any information pertaining to those services that you have requested or respond to any comments you may have about DAV.
- Provide you with information about other services we can offer, that are similar to those you have already contracted for, or previously enquired about.
- Help us develop and improve our services so they become more relevant to you.
- Ensure the mutual contractual obligations in place with our associate consultants and other suppliers are fulfilled in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Notify you about any changes that we make to our services or business.
If you have provided information in support of a potential associate consultancy role with DAV, then we will use this to evaluate your candidature for this and any future roles that may be relevant and, with your permission, to keep you informed about items relating to DAV’s business that we believe will be of interest to you.
3.1.1. Email communications
If you have consented to joining our mailing list, we may also use the information you have provided to contact you regarding DAV or other topics we feel will be of interest to you. To help us make these communications more relevant, we may also use tracking technologies to establish whether you have opened or clicked through on certain email/electronic communications we send you from time to time. If you wish to unsubscribe from any of our communications done in this way, you can do so at any time by clicking on the relevant link or notifying us by email.
We use a third-party email marketing service called MailChimp to process some of our email communications. MailChimp is an American company headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and sends over 10 billion emails per month on behalf of its users. We work with a UK based, third-party marketing consultancy to administer some of the email correspondence you may receive from us via the MailChimp service.
3.2. Information we collect about you
We use information that we collect about you through our website for analysis purposes. These help us to:
- Establish what is most effective about our website.
- Determine the actions we can take to improve the website to ensure its content is presented in the most effective manner for you and the device you are using.
- Identify the ways in which we can tailor the features and content of the website to make it more interesting and relevant to you.
